Hi all,
How on Earth can I turn OFF once and for all Norton Content Filter and Transparent Proxy. This ruins everything. Disabling them works for about a minute before it turns them back on.
I have my own VPN and the Norton 360 ones mess up all my VMWare configurations because they think that IP addresses change all the time.
Please no “why do you want to turn them off?”. I want to.
Hello sjordi. I’m not a MAC user but will do my best to assist in the lack of anyone that is a MAC user visiting the MAC boards these days. Hoping one of these articles will help you. Please advise your status with it, I will do my best to get someone who IS MAC oriented into the thread.

Thanks,
I already did this in the past but then Norton 360 keeps prompting to add the filters back to the Network options.
I’m going to see whether there is a way to make it shut its mouth about that

I’ve run into exactly the same issues. I receive a “Load Content Directly” on every email and it’s due to the Content Filter and Transparent Proxy. When I turn them off, they come back on. When I remove them, Norton keeps prompting to add them back. Frankly, I’ve spent way too much time having to fool with this. Have you come up with any answers?
Same issue here, Norton keeps sending your internenet traffic unwanted via their VPN secretly until you notice it. When you turn it off the software annoyingly doesn’t let you use it anymore until you enable it again. All your company secrets go via Norton’s internet service monitoring everything you do unwanted! Probably to sell user behaviour data to brokers and make money on it.
I bought the business version without VPN. And quess what, the VPN is still included without telling you!! And turns its self on in the mac again. If you don’t agree, again their software doesn’t work anymore due the annoying dialog you can’t bypasse. Super annoying! I’m buying somthing else when the subscription ends when Norton does not fix this asap.
