VPN option missing on iPhone app

In the menu where you would click on the vpn to change location, it has gone from my app. On my iPhone in settings it still shows as being active

What iOS version are you using?

Are you using the VPN feature of Norton 360 or the standalone Norton VPN app?

I’m on 26.3.1 There is a current update ready which will be done tonight. I’m using the feature within the Norton 360

I just did the update to iOS 26.4 and tested the VPN function with no issues. Please post back after you have updated iOS. The restart of the device during the update may be enough to resolve the issue.

Hi user12810. I am having the same problem! I have updated to iOS 26.4 with the Norton 360 App and VPN does not appear in the menu at the bottom of the screen. The term “Safe Web” appears with the option to disable it, which then disconnects the VPN. But the term VPN does not appear in the Menu, or the option to change the country location. I have tried removing and reloading the App as well as shutting the phone down and restarting, but still no luck! Can you please tell me if you had any success at your end with peterweb’s suggestions? Thank you.

So tried what Peterweb suggested by updating the iPhone to current iOS system. Only change I see is all headings on any page look like they are in development sage of app being built. I have deleted and reinstalled the app but this new issue and original one still persist. For now I am just leaving it for a few weeks to see when next update on app is and then try again

Out of curiosity, what country are you in? Maybe some geographic issue.

What 360 subscription do you have, and did you purchase directly from Norton or from a 3rd party or the app store?

Thanks very much for your replies. I have been in Mexico for the past 4 years and have been using Norton 360 without a hitch, until this week when one of our Banking Apps became inaccessible because they detected a connection through a proxy. One of the security features of this banking app is that Location Services must be on so that they can see where you are using the app from. There was no proxy before, and everything worked fine. I also have proxy settings turned off in my Network settings. I’m not sure which subscription of Norton we are using, because it was provided as a gift from my employer in Canada 10 years ago. It started as Norton Security and is now Norton 360. All I can find in the settings is that there is an End User License Agreement Third Party Software. I tried downloading Norton VPN and signing in but found out there wasn’t a license for me to use it through my previous employer. I don’t know what it was before, but today I tracked down the current Norton 360 VPN address to Gen Digital Inc in Mountain View, California.

I’m in uk and got it through downloading tje norton360 app then purchasing the grade I wanted. After the 14 day free trial I paid the app then all this happened.

Thank you very much.

I just finished a chat with Norton Support and here is what they had to say:

Norton Support: I understand you’re seeing the message “Detectamos una conexión a través de proxy” and that you have to disconnect Norton VPN to access your banking app, even when using cellular data. This is a common issue with some banking apps as they have strict security measures. It sounds like your banking app is detecting the VPN as a proxy, which is why it’s blocking access. Even if you switch to cellular data, if the VPN is still active, your banking app will continue to see a proxy connection. Since you haven’t changed any settings, it’s possible that either your banking app has updated its security protocols or there’s a new interaction between the Norton VPN and your banking app.

Looking back at this statement. When Safe Web is active on an iOS device, it will show the VPN icon in the notification area at the top of the iOS screen. This is not an actual VPN, but the only way for Norton to provide the Safe Web feature is to use the iOS VPN programming API’s.

If you have just been riding that same subscription by renewing, the product key used may not be for a product that included the VPN feature. The original Norton Security did not have a VPN, and any updates to the the 360 app would not have activated any VPN feature.

I just want to confirm you both are tapping on Menu at the bottom of the screen and then scrolling down to find the VPN feature.

Yes, definitely tapping on Menu, and the VPN feature is not listed. Only a feature called Safe Web that allows me to disable Safe Web. Yes, you are correct that this feature appears as a VPN icon in the notification area at the top of the iOS screen and in settings under Device VPN as Norton 360: Safe Web. I have not had to renew my subscription, as it has been provided continuously by a previous employer, so yes, it has been the same product key for the past 10 years. Now I understand why there are no VPN features, thank you! It appears that I am going to either have to upgrade my Norton subscription personally or use a specific VPN provider to navigate through Mexican banking security.

And what grade did you choose? Looking at the UK site, if you chose the base Anti Virus Plus, there is no VPN feature included.
