Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
früher konnte ich ein Backup auf einen Wechseldatenträger für meinen kompletten PC erstellen und wurde auch regelmäßig dazu aufgefordert.
Nun habe ich nur noch die Möglichkeit für eine Cloud (deren Datenvolumen viel zu gering ist) oder nur 10 lokale Backups, für die ich Pfade eingeben muss!
Wie kann ich ein komplettes Update erstellen?

I used to be able to create a backup of my entire PC on a removable storage device and was regularly asked to do so.
Now I only have the option of a cloud (whose data volume is far too small) or only 10 local backups for which I have to enter paths!
How can I create a complete update?

Norton Cloud Backup feature within Norton 360, is not a full system image backup.
Norton Cloud Backup functions as a file and folder backup, allowing you to selectively choose which specific files and folders to back up to the cloud, rather than capturing an entire snapshot of your entire system like a traditional system image backup would do.
Norton Cloud Backup lets you pick which files and folders to back up, giving you more control over what data is stored in the cloud.
While you can restore individual files from a Norton backup, you cannot use it to completely restore your entire operating system to a previous state like a system image backup would allow.
Back up on local drives (USB-sticks, external SSDs etc.) doesn’t work with the new 24 version anymore. Freezing of the application screen and no go ahead…
Back up on local drives was very comfortable with the former 22 version and for us to make a choice for Norton. Fortunately our abo runs out next month and we’ll not refresh it. Problem must be wellknown with Norton, when reading hundreds of complaints by community members here … (2025-01-28 from Germany)
New version 25 seems to work fine so far. Backuping of complete folders including it’s files on local drives (USB, external SSDs) is functioning after withdrawal of 24 version. Back to the roots after jeopardizing Norton’s business seriously …
