New/latest Norton 360 resulting in slowness

new/latest Norton 360 resulting in slowness

Hello @Janice_Gaspar
and you’ve run Norton LiveUpdate a few times and restarted (not Shut down) machine a few times and you’ve run one full scan?.. with same slowness?

With V.24 “Quick Scan” now takes over an hour to run on my Win10 PC.

Hello @David_Locker
and you’ve run Norton LiveUpdate a few times and restarted (not Shut down) machine a few times and you’ve run one Full Scan?.. with same Quick Scan slowness?

Quick Scan scheduled? or on-demand?
Quick Scan → priority?

I have run live update and restarted several times. Scan was on demand and priority was medium.
I even ran NRnR thinking there may have been something wrong with the installation. It seems the quick scan is running a complete scan. I can watch as it seems to go through every file and folder on my PC, even on my storage drive, not just “key areas for malware” like Norton states. Quick scan used to be what its name implies; it would be done in 5-10 minutes.
I have removed some back ups I had stored for another PC on the storage drive (D) and it has sped up considerably but the old version never messed with them.
I have not run a full scan as yet. I wasn’t sure how many days it may take to complete after seeing how long the “Quick” scan took.
The scan time is just the major thing I have noticed. There are a few other things I have noticed:
*Startup seemed to be slow at first but seems to have improved.
*Startup item that I never had before: “Norton AvLaunch component”. It shows up in Task Mgr but not in Norton Startup Mgr.
*Always 13-14 Norton processes running in background.
*Web page images seem to sometimes have problems loading. At times I have had to refresh to get the page to completely load.
I have had Norton AV for several years without the slightest problem and currently have a 10 PC subscription which is for myself and relatives. I do not have the time to go over all of these as well as my own. And it’s going to baffle the hell out of a couple older relatives. This should not have been released without it being 100% ready to use.

NRnR tool is for v22

Yes, I had some page load issues after my initial v24 install.

After my Reset to Default | Repair Norton and v24 Norton Remover [here]
and one Full Scan. I’m not needing to refresh pages.

That explains why I had problems with it. I had to got to Norton website to start the new download,
