Norton 360 - smart firewall blocks all internet traffic to/from browsers port 80/443 after a period of inactivity

I respectfully disagree that removal or disabling of Xfinity security IS the solution, yet, not being the right answer. Every user will have differences in network used and needs for the devices being utilized. The boilerplate I am presenting is. Xfinity protection functions at the ISP’s device level. The Xfinity protection for the router at the gateway level and is a great start for the basics, in reality, it isn’t and should not be a replacement for individual device security for that reason. Norton is specific to the protection of the OS. Using both Norton and Xfinity in an active manner, is like introducing a one legged monkey into a two monkey butt kicking contest. Conflicts abound.

Beginning with the release of version 24.xx and into the new version release 25.xx Norton firewall issues abound, in that. The end user doesn’t have much control over what the engine detects nor changing firewall rules to prevent false detections, etc. In the version before version 24.xx which was 22.24.8.36 there was the ability for users to change / edit firewall rules when issues like you are seeing arose. That has all basically disappeared with both the new version releases. There are two forums thread where all the relative issues for both 24.xx and 25.xx issues are tracked.
