@peterweb IT WORKED!! the VPN is back insert I love you here !! BUT, now for the definitions, I need a definitions link that’s actually for this v22.24 version - that page with the definitions on them don’t have a link that “doesn’t” fail, because none are for this version, I’ve tried them all. Since you helped me get my 360, thus my VPN back, can you please point me to which link for definitions you’re using on that page every day, because they’re all saying fail to me, unless I use the outdated one I saved locally from 1/10/25.
@Kimba_Essence I responded to your post on the other thread. The virus def files are at the same link as before. Instructions are the same as before. Security Center Download Detail
@Puzzler thank you hon, got it. ((hugs))
Good news at last.
I don’t use the definitions page because I went over to the dark side and allowed 360 to update to the version 24. Someone has to help test this.
On the definitions page scroll down to this file. Note that it says version 22.9 and 22.10 and later.
If you still have difficulty with the definitions, post back here and we’ll get @SoulAsylum to try to guide you, as he has reverted to the V22 360.
All: My apologies for tardiness. I’m at the end of a fit with RSV and having a major snow event here on top of it. Thanks to @peterweb for reposting the links for the installer and clarity of the intelligent updater. Much appreciated.
Here is the link I didn’t post earlier for the installer:
https://buy-download.norton.com/downloads/2024/22.24.8/N360/US/N360-ESD-22.24.8.36-EN.exe
Edited: This version does include the VPN and other features, they are listed on the My Norton side of the start page section. Select My Norton from the main classic UI to get there.

Is anyone else having problems on the site to download the virus definitions via the intelligent updater? It was working fine for a couple weeks, but now I don’t see any links any longer, just the text describing the different options.
I did get a new license for Norton 360 and connected my PC to that license and it shows I have 365 days remaining in Norton 360.
How can I fix this so I can see the links again?
Thanks!
Bill. Links for me are working at this URL: Note if you are using a VPN disable it and retry. And IU will not update version 24.xx

@SoulAsylum Have a question on the version 22 installer link you posted (the one that includes the VPN etc.) I used the other Ver 22 installer yesterday to revert my third computer before I noticed this post and, of course, it didn’t include VPN etc. So I downloaded the installer posted here and uploaded it to VirusTotal, which is what I do with any app I download. While VT didn’t flag it as suspicious, the file is missing a valid signature. All else appears fine. Any thoughts?
Also, many app developers have a website with archived copies of older versions of their apps and well as brief version history. Does Norton have one?
Thanks in advance.
@SoulAsylum oh no, I’m SO SORRY you’ve been dealing with RSV, I haven’t been on in a handful of days, it’s been 5 days since you posted that, how are you feeling now?
We’ve been buried in snow, ice and gray/white cloudy skies for weeks on end now, I feel you brother, it’s getting a bit depressing, haven’t seen a blue sky or any color in wow, maybe a month or more? But being sick in this weather is even worse, I hope hope hope you’ve recovered by now, or at least “mostly.” Take care of yourself!

@Puzzler I just downloaded the installer I posted the link for again and opened its properties on my daily machine. Here are the results of certificate validity as I can see them my side. The signatures are valid. VT has to be missing it somehow. Note this is the 360 version which should include the VPN. I have used this installer on my reverted machines and have VPN available. Hope this helps.

@Kimba_Essence Thank you!! I am doing much better these days. All dug out and can actually function again.

@SoulAsylum I just saw Kimba’s post about your bout with RSV. I wasn’t aware you were down with the nasty virus but glad to hear you’ve recovered. A couple of my friends were down for a over month but likely older than you.
Thank you for the follow-up on that file. As for N360 ver 24, the last straw for me was finding another setting that had spontaneously reverted to “factory default.” Absolutely no clue what the trigger was or when it happened. It gets tedious checking and rechecking settings. I got lulled into a false sense of security after a few days of stability and got lazy. Ver 24 reminds me of the early days of the Windows roll out. I hail from the days of MS-DOS. Even earlier…the punch cards, mag cards and when typewriters still had manual carriage returns.
@SoulAsylum Wanted to let you know that I found the source of the VirusTotal scan result showing “file not signed”. There’s a slight difference in the file size between my first download and second. I hadn’t noticed that the file name ended in .part so the entire file wasn’t downloaded, The app likely wouldn’t have installed from the first download.
Thanks for your help.
Very weird. I didn’t do anything and today the links are there. I do not have a VPN running. I am trying to update version 22. So all is working fine now. Thanks!
Your welcome as always!!

Very strange. Today the links for the virus definitions for the intelligent installer are missing again for me.
Thread for version 24.xx issues and suggestions - Norton 360 for Windows - Norton Community
All. Posted in another thread about this.

I guess it’s good to know I’m not the only one. Guess its time to look at Bitdefender.
Everyone: I have asked a contact at Norton about the links missing from the Intelligent Updater site. Norton to the best of my accounting has no control over the administration of that site, or, I could also be just unaware of the opposite. Nevertheless, I’ve presented the issue where we can no longer update virus definitions from the site due to the links not being present. Hoping someone over there can give an answer soon to post back here as much of it as I can and be professional in doing so.

Even the Rapid Release pages URL’s are missing. Its hard to believe isn’t it? Can someone please validate this as a secondary?
