Hello @halfbrite
I’m head scratch…other than Reset to Default
~ my v24 was initially an over-install pulled from my Norton account…then after a while…clean install…just to see.

I can try a clean install tomorrow when I have time, will be interesting to see if it helps.

Hello @halfbrite
Norton 360 v24 Remover [here]

I thought I don’t have time until tomorrow but I changed my mind, I did reinstall Norton and…

… IT WORKS !!! :slight_smile:

Now it is exactly as it should be, this is nice.

Thank you.

Hello friends, I’m thinking about going back to Norton. Does anyone have information if the gamers version has been updated to v24 and if not, will it be updated in the future?

@halfbrite

I got the same problem -->> again.
If I open Norton and than do a scan - it show´s me something…
But, if Norton is not open … there is no window.

Have a look, if the problem comes back again :upside_down_face:

@CyberDevil
Although the release announcement doesn’t specify which Norton product or versions its targeted for, and that its a throttled release when first announced. Most versions of Norton are getting the 24.xx version via Live updates at some point. So yes, at some point, most likely earlier than later Gamers version will probably see some form of it. What that will be we are not privy to until someone running that version gives the forums feedback.

Yes it seems I also got the problem again. Reinstalling Norton only fixed it for a little while.

This time I won’t reinstall, I’ll just wait and see if they will fix it eventually.

I can just scan those files from within the program until that.

If you want to see something, open norton in the background and then
select the file you want to scan

Norton will show you the scan and the scan results.

Interesting, I can just keep it open all the time, as a temporary fix. Thanks. :slight_smile:

When you invoke Run Quick Scan from systray button and close dashboard.
Do you see Quick Scan is running window?

yes

Yes.

The only thing that I don’t currently see is that window when I do a scan from explorer context menu. But I can just scan differently now and wait for it to be fixed.

Okay. Thanks

Well, my side.
Explorer Scan is running…only appears for larger item/s.
Otherwise, I only see Explorer Scan completed.

And why oh why get rid of ‘Silent Mode’??

I put up with version 24 for two days, then reverted to V22 from a recent OS backup and turned off updates.

I have been faithful to Norton since the Windows 98 days - but if Peter Norton is keeping an eye on this situation, I can just imagine his disbelief…

I just want the old format back.

Apparently users are not smart enough to have any control, so options are removed in new version to allow us to make decisions before it intervenes (such as requiring it to ask before quarantine a file).

The scare tactic attempts to sell Privacy Monitor were bad before but now it is even more aggresivie. Need to scale back this push to sell software, especially using the scare tactics. I call it an attempt to SCAM us, and Norton’s reputation is tarnished with this crap.
