Website Loading Issue Since Installed Norton

Thanks for this.
For less knowledgeable users like me can you explain what a “clean” install is?

fwiw ~ my “clean install”
Note: Norton account credentials handy

Uninstall Norton → machine restart → scour File Explorer for Norton remnants → CCleaner: scour registry for Norton remnants → machine restart → allow Microsoft Defender to update & run scan → new install Norton pulled from my Norton account → review Norton settings to my preference → run LiveUpdate a few time with a few machine restarts → run one Norton Full Scan

as always, your mileage may vary

Thank you, appreciate your help, will give it a try when I get chance
My current machine is only a week old so it sort of had a clean install when I set it up on my Norton account and still have the same issue

Oh okay…any pre-installed trialware security solutions properly removed before Norton install ?

Oh okay…I was imagining you were Norton 360 v24 upgraded in-place from Norton 360 v22…my initial Norton 360 v24 install was in-place upgrade from Norton 360 v22.

May be best to open a Norton support ticket and offer to send debug logs.

I think that’s what is annoying me the most , my old laptop had this issue and that one had been updated from v22 to v24 yet this lap has “never known” v22 and gone straight to v24 yet still has the same problem. I was just glad to see others had the same issue.
Thanks again for all your advice

if you want to remain with Norton…maybe, open a Norton support ticket and offer to send debug logs.

Anyone on 24.12.9725 or higher still having this issue? It seems to have stabilized for me. Hmmmm…

I am on 24.12.9725 and as of yesterday I still had the problem, if I get chance I will check and possibly open a Support Ticket as suggested by our friend @bjm if I decide to stay with Norton if its still not working. My subscription expires in a month so it might be time to try somewhere else after 20 years with Norton

They don’t. They say they are blocked from reading any of this.

Just did a Smartscan on both my laptops and fingers crossed I have had no issues with websites on either of them even after a restart. I was literally exploring other options this morning for other providers!!!

Having same issue, even turning off VPN did not work. tried using the Norton Private Browser. Been using it for about 2 months now without any issues. Strange how Edge won’t work properly but the Norton product does.

I did not see the issue for several days and hoped it was resolved, but today, it’s back with a vengeance. :frowning:

Saw your post and I can confirm that my Windows 10 laptop has had the problem return. I am about three weeks from needing to renew so unless something changes I will be going elsewhere

Having this same issue. All applications are updated. I’ve restarted multiple times. It really started happening to me when we upgraded to Norton360. Please, Norton, stop ignoring this issue!

It seems that disabling “Safe Web” resolves most of my issues. Whatever this latest Norton “update/upgrade” did, roughly 2 weeks ago, appears to interrupt or delay a lot of Internet communications resulting in broken page loads. The “dynamic” websites seem to be affected the most. Financial applications, banking, stocks, even YouTube is affected. I’ve been a Norton customer for years, but I’m seriously on the verge of canceling everything. This is happening across all of my computer systems; Win10/Win11, Edge/Chrome, web applications and so on. Do we not have Norton Support engineers monitoring these forums???

Did you disable all in “Safe Web” tab or just some part of it like “HTTPS scanning”? This issue began occurring after the release of the new version of Norton 360 last year. I did not experience these problems with the previous version. Over the past few days, the situation appears to have worsened. The issue affects both of my devices—one running Windows 10 and the other running Windows 11. It is surprising that this issue remains unresolved after nearly six months. We are all paying customers, and it feels like they are stringing us along without addressing the issue.

The problem is if we start disabling stuff like Safe Web then it rather defeats the object of having the virus protection in the first place.
I did a scan on one of my laptops yesterday and not the other one. The one that was scanned has problems the one that I didn’t is fine.
Just imagine all the users out there who don’t know of this forum and probably think it’s their laptop

I just disabled “Safe Web” which would disable all of the underlying “protections”. I didn’t go any further with my troubleshooting. As for versions, I don’t recall an update to a “new version” in September of last year. My systems updated more recently, perhaps the very end of December or early January (new GUI, new layout, more individual services sitting in Task Manager, etc.). I’m starting to suspect we’re their beta test subjects…

How may I reproduce “website loading issue”?
I’m not seeing an “issue” my side.

as it seems norton 360 disabling website loading for me: across different pc/routers, OS (win10 OR win11) and even different ISP. bottom line, is there a workaround?
