Issue abstract: Until a few weeks ago, when I needed to enable the VPN, I could choose from different protocols, now I can not. But on the Samsung S21 installation, the different protocols, WireGaurd, Mimic, OpenVPN, & Automatic, are available to choose from. It’s only a few sites I have needed to use Mimic in order to access those sites. Were these options removed for a Windows 10 version? Can I get that ability back in a setting somewhere?
Detailed description:
Product & version number:24.12.9725 (build 24.12.9725.902)

What is the error message you are seeing?none
If you have any supporting screenshots, please add them:
Norton 360 for Windows and Norton 360 for Android are two completely different pieces of software. The options available in one are not neccesarily available in the other.
In this case there is no mimic option for the VPN under Windows.
VPN protocol settings are available for some users, but not for most users in Norton 360 for Windows.
All protocol files are available in the installation folder, but there is no VPN protocol switch.

There is no mention of a protocol switch anywhere on these links. The files for all protocols are in the installation folder, but many users and I myself do not have this protocol switch in Norton 360 with VPN version 25.3.9983.
and what does Norton support say about missing “VPN protocol settings”?
and the picture here with “VPN protocol settings” is from your/whose Norton 360 v25.3.9983?
I do not have “VPN protocol setting” with my Norton 360 v25.3.9983
I imagine Norton VPN Plus/Ultimate users have “VPN protocol settings”.
Is this pic here from Norton VPN Plus/Ultimate?
what’s the path to the protocol files?
============================================
Maybe, when Norton VPN Plus/Ultimate were released…Norton removed “VPN protocol settings” from Norton 360 to differentiate their offerings. IDK
Norton has removed “VPN protocol settings” from Norton 360 for Windows.
Norton VPN plans are more VPN centric with advanced options…protocol settings and region/state option. Where you can connect with VPN is a specific region/state…via virtual servers.
Norton can’t directly change the subscription. However, Norton can cancel one product and provide new one and transfer the previous subscription days into the new product.
Norton support will escalate my case…so, that Lv2 can explain why some users have & some users do not have VPN protocol settings.
This screenshot shows the protocol switch in Norton 360. You don’t have it in the latest version, I don’t, but another user in the same version has the switch. And its presence does not depend on the geographical location, country, language of the antivirus menu and OS… Even with the same subscription, with the same multi-user key and with the same installer with the embedded key from the user with the switch, other users (before him and after him) do not have this protocol switch.
Nothing intelligible. First they gave me an installer of the old version 6.5.0.59. After I told them that I needed a choice of protocols, in particular Mimic, they said that the request had been submitted and such a function would appear in the next updates…
and you run Norton 360?
why did Norton support offer you Norton Secure VPN v6.5.0.59?
Norton Secure VPN v6.5.0.59 does not include protocol settings…as I recall.
I do vaguely recall Norton 360 - VPN protocol settings. I do not recall when Norton 360 - VPN protocol settings went missing.
and the next updates for what will include protocol settings.
On one of my laptops, I have the protocol settings, and I have found that the only one that works for me is mimic. However, with my new laptop, I do not have the option to change the VPN protocol, as I am using the same system, Windows 11, and the same product key.
