Hello. I just upgraded from the 22.24.2.6 to 22.24.7.8 of Norton 360 with live update, and, as already occured on the previous update of norton in april, the view “My Norton” disappeared, so i have only access to classical view.
The previous case in april was solved by deleting and reinstallaing Norton, but this time i tell the support that i will not reinstall Norton perpetually.
What do you think of this ? (the support proposed to reinstall, which i refused)
Thank’s
and Open My Norton from systray icon does not call My Norton dashboard?
Thank’s for the reply. No, only classical view.
Wow! never heard, as I recall, just Classic view?
So, you have Open My Norton available from the sysytay button…but, Open My Norton calls Classic?
Yes. Wether i click on the product icon or in the systray, it open classic view only, with no possibility to go to my norton. It was working fine before the update, and since the second time, i suspect a bug in Norton, unable to have the correct view. I am surprised that for such a good and vital product, things are not simpler. Just a view…
Do you see My Norton in the right hand pillar of the classic interface?
If you click on Settings in the classic interface, do you see Launch View at the bottom left where you can choose between classic and My Norton?
Did you restart your computer after the update? Even though Norton says you do not have to, sometimes it is necessary and advisable to restart. Be sure it is restart command, not Shutdown and startup again.
No My norton in the right hand of the classic interface.
When i click on settings, the window that appear do not show the choice.
Yes i restarted many times since the update, with the two options , stop and restart, but do not change Norton.
I think about something : is it possible that the shortcut is not created correctly ?
i have : “C:\Program Files\Norton Security\Engine\22.24.7.8\uiStub.exe”
with the option : start in “C:\Program Files\Norton Security\Engine\22.24.7.8”
Thnk’s for your help.
After updated today I also no longer see “My Norton” or “Settings” options on Norton icon on my Taskbar. Have already done system restart.
I also can’t see where to check VPN Settings.
Hello @MsSusan
OS?
Norton 360 v22.x or v24.x?
Does Norton LiveUpdate run?
Does Norton QuickScan run?
fwiw ~ I’m now wondering if this is in preparation to receive v24.x
Version 22.24.7.8 is running.
LiveUpdate and Quickscan ran several times successfully.
Restarted system several times.
Win10 shows Norton on taskbar but options for My Norton and Settings no longer appear.
I can’t find where to check VPN settings anymore, sometimes I need to disable to access a few web sites.
fwiw ~ from this distance = your N360 v22.x install feels corrupt
I also just noticed today that Secure VPN is no longer installed when checking options online, “Open Norton 360” from taskbar.
Uninstall, reinstall likely needed which is what support would likely recommend as usual.
The Open Norton 360 from the system tray icon should open the classic interface, that does not have the VPN controls. See if you have Open My Norton from that same system tray icon. That would open the new interface with the VPN control.
The last post confirm that the classic or “My norton” seems to be only interfaces. So why cannot we have the power to choose which we want, and again, why Norton has made such complicated things. I am perplexed.
I ran removal tool and reinstalled and I have all the options back on the Norton 360 taskbar dropdown list. “Open My Norton”, “Settings” listed like before so I can check VPN settings. 22.24.7.8 is current version.
Have been getting Feature Setup, Server Connection errors too. But i’m done with troubleshooting for now.
Yes. as mentionned in the initial Post. it is unacceptable that we have to reinstall perpetually.
you will have the same case next upgrade of the product with live update.
I’m also having the same issue, and some other abnormal issues.
- After product updates installed, system tray icon disappeared, Norton doesn’t open, Norton scan menu disappeared from the right-click context menu
Only solution is to clean install everytime there is a product update, I,m having this issue for few months.
Norton should do a better QA release process considering this is a security product, I’m utterly disappointed by their quality of service now.
This is becoming a complete joke now because the only solution they have is reinstall the product.
Be sure you restart your system after an update/patch. Even though Norton says a restart is not required, it often is needed to sort out issues such as what you are experiencing. Be sure you are using the restart command. Not shutdown and startup again.

I also had the same problems constantly from version 22.24.5.6 onwards, only the update to the latest Norton360 with version number 24 solved the problem

Thanks, appreciated, yes I also had the same issue, and re-installing resolved the issue 1 month ago, this error occurred again with recent product updates.
But Norton should be responsible for making the update process reliable without compromising the current installation,
I cannot waste my time cleaning and installing Norton whenever it isn’t working properly.
